July 28 2017
we started our journey to New Mexico yesterday for brad and mallorys wedding on aug 12.. Last night we stayed in Oakwood RV park Clear Lake Iowa last night. Found a nice spot off the highway for $35 a night they did not take Good Sams or Passport America, however the sites were probably the biggest we have ever stayed at. paved pads, grass and LEVEL. all a bonus. tonight we are at Grantsville Kanas near Topeka KS. Topeka Hilltop campground . Cost $16 with PA. Small sites, but it does have a pool. Very much off the beaten path. Today, I decided that it would be a good idea to leave the back window open to keep  the air flowing in the camper. Well, not such a good idea...now I have a camper full of dust..damn! I spent 2 days cleaning prior to leaving Chippewa. . Tomorrow, we are off to Dodge City, staying at a Blue RV park.. they are having Dodge City days while we are there, should be fun.
Update:  We decided to not stay at the Blue Rv Park as the reviews on that park were some of the worst I have ever read! Going to Gunsmoke Rv park instead and paying a lot more.

July 16th 2017
Another week flown by. Had a great time last weekend with friends Val and Ken. I introduced them to kayaking and they loved it. Now Deb and Doug Ellis are camped here for the week. They stay here every year during Chippewa fair. I washed the outside of the camper this week and it shines now! Karen, Joel and I did some painting at moms house this week and tom mowed the lawn so her place is looking good. time to list it! I need to get going and buy a dress for Brads wedding so that is the plan for this week. We plan to leave with the camper towards Alburquque   on the 28th.

July 1 2017
Still parked at Pine Harbor campground. Slowly becoming better acquainted with the other seasonal campers. many are only here occasionally on weekends. Tom was dx'd with Lyme disease on June 21st after falling ill the previous sunday. Fevers, nausea/ vomiting, dizziness, bad headache. He essentially didn't move off of the couch for 7 days. Doxy was started and he started feeling better after about 3 days. We had to cancel our plans to go visit John and Laurie in Canada, he was just feeling too tired to make the drive. Friends Deb and Doug Ellis are coming to this campground for 2 weeks in July and also  Val and Ken Benton are coming next weekend for  2 nights. Yeah! We are planning on going to Kevins on Monday for a few days. we had our moving sale last weekend and it was pretty successful. We got rid of most everything we didn't want to save and made some money on our stuff. We now have a small unit

June 23rd 2017
Summer is flying by. first day of summer has already come and gone and now the days start to shorten. We have been busy moving all of our storage stuff down to my mom's and getting ready to sell it at a sale in my mom's garage.  we found a storage unit in Chippewa for $26 a month. it is small but we don't need to save much stuff anymore. Yesterdays sale went ok but today was slow. tomorrow is half price day. hopefully, we will be able to get rid of most of it. certainly was not worth paying storage costs for it any longer. tom was dx'd with Lyme disease this week. he started feeling ill on the 17th and by Wednesday the 21st he was so ill that there was no other choice but to go to urgent care. they called on thurs stating he was positive for Lyme. He is still ill enough that he has not gotten off of the couch for more than 15 minutes all week. hopefully, the doxy will kick in soon. thankfully, my cousin Eunice was willing to come and help at the sale on thurs and mom came for the afternoon today. It has been raining  a lot the last couple of weeks with some severe storms also. I hate storms. We are starting to become better acquainted with some of the other seasonal campers here at Pine Harbor. Nice folks. We are supposed to go to Canada on the 2nd of July to visit with friends John and Laurie for a few days. Hopefully Tom will improve greatly by then.

June 1st 2017
We left Eric's on Monday and stayed once again at the Billings Walmart and had Braden over for supper. Beautiful evening to sit outside and visit. We continued on to Deadwood where we had reservations at the Steel Wheel campground. (site number 16). Originally, the cost was $35 with good sams but we joined Passport America and the cost was $19. Nice savings. We should have joined sooner. They have over 1800 participating campgrounds in the US. We went into Deadwood a couple of times but did not win on the slot machines. Darn! We did find a good deal on a meal at the Tin Lizzy. $2.99 for a burger/fries/drink. Best deal in Deadwood I think. We crossed off another NP on thurs. Wind Cave NP just out of Custer. We took a one hour tour of one of the caves and did a hike. Nice tour (Garden of Eden) but one hour was long enough to be underground. Now we are headed back to Chippewa. Hopefully, will make it to Sioux Falls today.
Tom just finds girls everywhere

May 26th 2017
We have been parked in Eric's yard for a week and a half now. We have been having a great time and watched Breanna get her diploma last weekend. She also had surgery this week on her knee d/t an injury she received playing tennis this spring. We were able to spend an evening in Billings with Braden when we traveled thru. We spent that night at the local Walmart on Kings av.. We were not the only ones to take up their free camping offer. There were more campers there than there were at the campground in Medora! The truck did just fine pulling thru the Livingston/Bozeman area but as I expected  Tom bought a new truck at the Denny Menholt ford dealership in Butte. Now we are the proud owners of a 2015 Ford 350. Nice enough salesman (Austin) but the crew that detailed the truck for the sale did a crap job. We should now never have to worry about any pulling/weight issues ever again. Grandson Dalton made it to state championships for shot put this weekend so we went to Butte to watch him, unfortunately he told us the wrong school that it was being held at so we were late getting to the meet and missed him throwing. He took 13th in the state. Pretty good for a sophomore. Grandson Wade has been keeping us entertained with his funny stories/wit and is just overall a great kid to be around. Heather and I have been doing a bit of bike riding and walking. It is so beautiful around here. I can see why they love it here. We will be heading to the Deadwood SD area on Monday for a few days, then back to Chippewa.
