march 6 2021
Ok it is a bit crazy that i havent posted anything for 6 weeks but the internet in Ehrenberg Az was not the greatest .
So after an extended farewell with new friends in Yuma. many social hours and meals at their places we got ready to move on. however my one crown that the dentist in mexico still was bothersome so i went back again and he replaced the crown and did a root canal. then did the post in my jaw in prep for my abductment and crown next summer. so after 3 root canals, 4 crowns and the post procedure and nearly $3000 i think my teeth are done for now. we ended up staying 3 days longer in yuma.
We finally get to Ehrenberg on the 3rd of feb. nice campground The Palms at Riverside. #c-5. $475 mo horrible manager and a disgusting old crappy town. i hated it immediately. manager out and out lied to us a number of times about the cable issues. absolutely no ota tv stations and we finally wore James down enough he gave us a cable box. yay. still didnt like the area tho. campground residents not exactly the friendliest either. made the best of it but after 2 weeks we made the decision to leave march 1. beth and todd opted to stay put for the month. While there we made a trip to Parker so tom could visit the eye doctor as his vision was blurry in the left. they said everything looked ok and gave him drops to put in but as of this time they have only mildly helped. been a month. also went to the casino for the afternnon. both won., yay. another day we went to Joshua tree NP with beth and todd. yet another nice park. also took a very rough ride out to the Desert Bar .in Parker middle of nowhere, solar powered. only open on sat/sun 12-6 for 6 months a yr and it was packed!. live music. good beer and food. in Ehrenberg there was a small bar that we could walk to for a beer. ate there once but i got sick so we didn't eat there again. no one else got sick so i guess it was just a thing with me. we also got our first covid shot in Ehrenberg. moderna.
we left march 1 to go to Maricopa az for the month. got to the campground and it was disgusting and again in the middle of nowhere. so we chose not to stay and moved on to Leisure Valley Rv park in Casa Grande. Nice park. People we met in Los Fresnos tx are here also. so we know someone. Jo and Dave. first night here we were awakened to an angel pounding on our trailer yelling FIRE/GET UP!!!repeatedy.
SO scary. the camper next to us was on fire! it was the refrigerator again. we were very close to the camper so we chose to pack up and move away. it took us so long to do it tho. had the camper on fire burned at the rate they usually do we would never have been able to move away fast enough to save our camper. very eye opening experience!
Jo and Dave took us down to the local pub and grub. fun spot called the Airport Lounge. used to be next to the airport but they moved the airport. food looks delicous there. live music on friday afternoons too.
